Paroikia - Paros

Paroikia
 - Paros

Paroikia, the Town of Paros, is its capital and main port, with the beach windmill as its trademark. The main sights are the Ekatontapyliani church, the Archeological Museum, and the Venetian Castle, while the scenic town, with its narrow alleys and old mansions or humble traditional Cycladic houses, coexists with the touristic agencies and crowded shops. There are some Byzantine and Venetian remains, but most of them had been destroyed during many centuries of earthquakes. Paroikia could also become the starting point for travelling across the island.
