Paroikia - Paros

Paroikia, the Town of Paros, is its capital and main port, with the beach windmill as its trademark. The main sights are Ekatontapyliani church, the Archeological Museum, and the Venetian Castle, while the scenic town, with its narrow alleys and old mansions or huble traditional cycladic houses, coexists with the touristic agencies and crowded shops. There are some byzantine and venetian remains, but most if them had been destroyed during many cenruries of earthquakes. Paroikia could also become the starting point for travelling across the island.
